It's that time of year again, where "updating my website more religiously" sneaks itself onto my new years resolution list. Honestly, I let my life fill up and get crazy, and the first task I put on the backburner when things get wild is unfortunately my social media presence. Obviously, that makes the most sense for my life and my mental health, but it's a terrible way to market and expand my audience if I only upload one photo every other week.
Over the last year, I really focused a lot on booking tons of photoshoots, aiming for quantity over quality. Not to say that I let my photography quality drop in the process, but I was hired for shoots for family vacations, engagement photos, and so, so, so, SO many soccer team photos (haha!) These genres are great and brought me a lot of work, but definitely left me feeling creatively stifled, and my passion for taking photos really flagged after a while as a result.
For 2018, I'm going to have to go back to networking with models, applying to shoots even if I don't think I'll get them, and just really going out on a limb. I don't like doing any of those three things, (hahaha) but I'm willing to sacrifice my comfort zone for getting to take better, more fun, more stunning photos.
To anyone reading this, sorry for not working my hardest this year, and thank you for supporting me through it anyway. I'll find a work flow that allows me to upload regularly without getting stressed out soon, and you can always feel free to drop me a line if you're looking for some crazy, glittery, avant garde photos in Seoul (and sometimes LA.)
